Today we celebrate the birthday of J Dilla. Born James Dewitt Yancey, the prolific Detroit musician left behind one of the richest legacies in hip-hop/R&B to date. History remembers him effortlessly navigating his MPC 3000, but that was just one facet of his abilities. Dilla expressed true creative freedom and courage.
