This is your weekly delivery of new tunes from around the world. From up-and-coming indie talent to well-known major acts, you’ll be kept up to date on quality tracks that you should be listening to.
Waterparks – Numb
This is hard! I need to look into more music from Waterparks. “Numb” has so much pace and energy, but the writer and lead vocalist (Awsten Knight) also controls it by by changing the tempo of his delivery. Give this Texas Pop Rock band a listen.
Fickle Friends – Not in the Mood
“Not In The Mood” is the first drop from Fickle Friends’s Weird Years: Season 2 EP.
Natassja Shiner states, “This song is about taking back your power. We all do things that aren’t good for us. We keep people in our lives who make us work for their affection, who make us feel like the ‘back up plan’ just in case what they really want doesn’t work out. In classic Fickle Friends style, we have dressed up a sad song in party clothes. We hope you love this as much as we loved writing it.”
Vistas – Start Again
Scottish trio, Vistas, are back with “Start Again.” This one is full of positive energy that will breathe new life into every listener. I’ll have this one on repeat.
Frontman, Prentice Robertson states, “‘Start Again’ was one of the first songs I wrote after I took a bit of time off from writing. It is essentially a song about having writer’s block and the feelings that come along with worrying where your next idea is going to come from. I think getting this song down really helped to unstick any writer’s block I was having and oiled the wheels of everything that would follow on from this track.”
Bree Runway – HOT HOT
Bree Runway‘s “Hot Hot” is fire. She is fantastic from the audio to video. Don’t miss this one!
You may remember her from her single “ATM.”
“I feel like this is the song everyone needs to hear as it gets hotter and the world eases up,” Bree says. “This pandemic hasn’t been easy on the brain, and with being indoors wearing joggers 24/7, it’s been hard to feel like a hottie, so I’m hoping this track will help.”
I’ve got to s/o Busta Ryhmes, which means s/o to Daft Punk also, on this one. You know how the sample game goes.
Unlike Pluto – Talk Heavy ft. Mike Taylor
Unlike Pluto and Mike Taylor drop “Talk Heavy.” I can definitely hear this one synced nicely to a motivational scene in TV and film.
REI AMI- THAT’S ON YOU!
I’m showing this song love for the beat switch, alone. S/o to Eli Jay Rizk on production. REI AMI has a sweet and endearing vibe in a lot of her music. “THAT’S ON YOU!” hits that feeling too.
