BROODS – Heartbreak
It’s not often you hear a positive take on a break up. New Zealand’s BROODS get it right on “Heartbreak.”
“Heartbreak” will appear on the duo’s fourth full-length album, Space Island.
In an interview with FLOOD, Georgia Nott states, “We wrote this with Stint—great producer/great person—starting with the bassline. Then the drums. Caleb was really on one that day. Everything was just rolling out of him so easy. I was having one of those days where I was feeling like I was going backwards. I was being hard on myself so I decided to write for myself as I would for a friend. It’s good to be your own friend. I thought, “What would I say to my sister?” And wrote, “Let your heart break,” god damn it, you’ve had a rough time!”
Donna Missal – (to me) your face is love
I listened to the intro / up to 10 seconds and I told myself this song was getting picked no matter what came after. It was a good bet because Donna Missal did not disappoint on “(to me) your face is love.”
“It’s a love letter,” Missal says of her inspiration. “I was dancing around alone a lot during this time, wanting to be around people. I wanted to make what I could dance to. I was very inspired by the change in environment after so much time stationary — a time of anxiety and longing. When I got back to my flat from the studio that night, I danced around to our demo and felt so excited for the first time in a long time. I want to share that feeling.” PAPER Mag
JLS – Postcard
British boyband, JLS, has a new album on the way titled 2.0. Their new single “Postcard” follows up “Eternal Love” which was their first single in eight years.
“Music is and always will be in our DNA, the chemistry we have as a band is unique and we’re looking forward to our new chapter – 2.0. It feels good to be back.” retro pop
Stela Cole – Walking On The Moon
While Stela Cole enjoys the new milestone for “I Shot Cupid,” she releases a new song called “Walking On The Moon.” It’s a confident track with all the modern Pop vibes, but with a cinematic feel.
Avril Lavigne – Bite Me
Avril Lavigne is full of attitude with Travis Barker in “BIte Me.” She’s a great songwriter who shows it, once again, on her latest release. Blast this one on the weekend and beyond.
